About the Retreat

What makes The Giving Retreat unique?

Our retreats are designed with a trauma-informed lens, offering a sanctuary for women to heal in community. We operate on a reciprocity model: for every participant, we donate $100CAD to women’s healing initiatives, ensuring your path to wellness directly supports another woman’s path to growth. The donation is split between Canada and our destination country.

What should I expect for travel and accommodations?

We curate peaceful, elegant sanctuaries, from the coast of Panama to rural Ontario. You will receive a detailed logistical guide following registration, covering flight recommendations, packing lists, and somatic preparation to ensure your journey is as tranquil as the destination.

How do the donations and contributions work?

Transparency is our foundation. A designated $50CAD portion of your retreat fee is automatically directed to accredited charities like Ovarian Cancer Canada  and $50 to a local organization or initiative. We handle the contribution directly, meaning your presence alone becomes a powerful act of collective giving.

What is included in the retreat package?

All of our retreats include accommodation, food, one special activity (from breathwork to cacao ceremonies and beyond), airport shuttle and all of the yoga, movement, meditation programming. Flights, travel insurance and additional excursions are not included.

Frequently Asked Questions: Travel & Arrival

How do I reach the retreat sanctuary?

Every retreat guest will receive detailed directions, recommendations, and shuttle details. Our TICO agent will support you with flight and travel insurance booking.

Yes. Soft landings are vital to our philosophy. We coordinate shared group shuttles for our retreat participants and these will be communitcated after registration.

Is travel insurance required?

To ensure every guest is safely held throughout their travels, comprehensive travel insurance is required. This layer of protection allows you to begin your healing journey with a peaceful heart.

Logistics & Preparation

What to Pack

We suggest bringing soft layers for yoga and movement, a journal for integration circles, and a reusable water bottle. A detailed  packing list will be shared with all particiapnts afer registration.  Sturdy walking shoes are essential for nature walks. We provide mats, props and snacks!

Daily Rhythm

Our days are gently held to support healing. A typical flow includes an early morning meditation, and movement practice, communal meals, integration circles, midday rest by the pool and optional excursions followed by evening restorative ceremonies. There is ample space for quiet reflection throughout the day.

Arriving with Ease

Come as you are; there is no prerequisite for participation. Our facilitators ensure all sessions are choice-based.

Heal. Witness. Hold.

Expect a space that honors your story and invites your rest. Our retreats are designed to be sanctuaries of restoration, where every detail is chosen with care and trauma-informed sensitivity.

What will my retreat experience feel like?

You will experience a gentle, organic flow between movement, reflection, and community. We prioritize safety and agency, ensuring you feel held and supported throughout every session. You'll meet new people, spend as much time in coversation as you want and as much time alone as you need.

Is previous yoga experience necessary?

No prior experience is needed. Our facilitators offer movement that is accessible to all bodies, focusing on the internal feeling of peace rather than external form.

How old do I have to be?

Our retreat guests are aged 18+ and one of the greatest gifts on our past retreats has always been the beauty of different ages and life stages coming together under one retreat. Check out the Yoga Journal Article written by a past participants about one of our past retreats to Costa Rica.
